Did you know that the Bible is a medical book too?
Yet, unlike other traditional medical books, it doesn't deal with a more or less temporary treatment of symptoms and effects of the disease, but deals with the very root of the problem, addressing and healing the cause.
Proverbs 3:8 says:
It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.
Do you want to know what this is talking about? Let's read the verses just before.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
Proverbs 3:5-7 (NKJV)
Modern science and medicine often treat only the effects of disease because they don't actually know what the cause is. And they don't know because they don't search for it where it can be found. If healing comes as a result of trusting God and departing from evil, we can infer that many illnesses appear as a result of distrust in God and practicing evil.
Therefore, let each of us examine himself/herself, look for the cause of disease and follow the prescription of healing. A prescription that's free for all, and which prescribes medicine free from any adverse effects, but having positive side effects. "Known to bring joy, peace and fulfillment to the patient."
